I would probably fit the more "stereotypical" DD guy. I am a conservative, Christian. I really appreciate this post though because I am pleasantly surprised to find so much diversity in the folks on this forum! It seems we have people of all demographics of life here. How cool! If you had not posted this I would have never known so many different types of people practiced this lifestyle.

I'd say very conservative. Pro Constitution. Maybe leaning libertarian in many aspects.
Traditional.

I’d say I’m pretty conservative, especially on the social topics.

I am Christian in my private life and liberal i.e. freedom lover in public. I believe the State should impose minimum restrictions and be an enabler by providing basic necessities like nutritious food, education and health to all. Taking care of people is being Christian and an welfare state helps ensure that. However too much of welfarism can be bad for economy. Also I am anti-immigrants because states derive their existence from boundaries.

My views politically is America is in a crisis. In all my years I have never seen such an inept administration as Biden/Harris. The good news is there is going to be a Big Red Tsunami coming in November. I anticipate the GOP to pickup at least 55 seats in the Congress not to mention all the gains that will be made in state houses and cities throughout the land. My biggest unanswered questions are how did President Biden ever get a 33% approval rating. In my circle of friends and family he wouldn’t even get 3%. I am very conservative politically, I believe in strict law and order, strong border control, and of course I believe when the framers said the rights of the people to keep and bare arms shall not be infringed they meant exactly that therefore all gun control laws are an infringement and unconstitutional. I realize some may consider my views extreme but I have a hard time comprehending how 82 million people supposedly voted for a man that with 40 plus years in elected government offices had no accomplishments other than making him and his whole family wealthy. I question how Joes son Hunter went to China on Air Force 2 when his father was VP and came home with million dollar contracts and I question how Hunter Biden who has no formal training as an artist can sell paintings for hundreds of thousands of dollars to anonymous buyers. Also can anyone tell me who the Big Guy is that Hunter Biden referenced who gets a 20% cut on some of these China deals. I can think of no guy bigger than his father. What a mess our country is in but help is on the way.

I actually think this wasn’t a helpful post for me. Just like the country, I now feel a divide here. A lack of trust. Who will judge me? I guess it really doesn’t matter who judges me. But a few comments scared me. I’m a nurse. I work for the government. I saw Vampire Weekend live before the primaries.

I would prefer to see the power of government reduced. The more power we give government, especially at the federal level, the more we have to worry about what it will do next to us, and the more that is at stake in getting control over those awesome levers of wealth and power, to reward our friends and punish our enemies. This is what we get when we resort to politics as the solution to every problem.

This is not the direction that liberal democracy should be heading. It would be nice if the voting public could maintain a healthy skepticism of all our leaders and their nostrums, to be suspicious of all concentrations of economic and political power, and understand that it always corrupts those who obtain it. And especially, let us not expect that maybe, just this next time, against all odds, we will find those magical fearless leaders, give them ultimate authority over us, and they will make everything right.

We are both more liberal, me a little bit more left wing than my HoH. But in an european country.
Actually I often think about how DD gibt's in with my political viiew and my view in society.
For example: I read somewhere else in a post about arguing between couples in the supermarket 'so what? If no one gets killed, i just die it like my HoH likes it' and my thoughts get immediately startet going round and round.
'If my HoH thinks we should buy the cheaper bananas instead of the biological and fair-traded ones, it may look like such a decision where no one dies, but actually there are people dying. Not before my doorsteps but in this world (gods world by the way). They are dying from hunger, because there income is too low for two times rice a day, from being poisened by pesticides...perhaps there is a little girl dying while/after being raped by just a pervert guy to whom her family has to sold her because of these problems. So YES there is someone dying. STOP! I CANNOT not follow such rules. But: If i'm not even able to follow rules about grocery shopping, which one i can follow?' and so on and on...
So I think my/our decision for DD ist also a political one...
