Domestic discipline and Christianity

Post by Newtoldd » Wed May 12, 2021 12:52 pm

Curious about how many people who practice the lifestyle on here are from a Christian household?

Thank you ,
Cheryl

I was in a Christian school for 4 years and going to church for those years. But I don't believe I learned a single thing and I definitely was not in a Christian household. My parents are a horrible example of how two married people should act.

I found Christ around 14 or 15 years old, while I was in foster care. I have grown my faith every day since and I raise my children as Christians.

Me and my wife are Christians.
I don't base my dominance in the Scripture, however my wife sometimes finds comfort in what the Bible says about wifely submission.

Same. Verses on wifely submission and obedience are something I often read. I also listen to sermons based on those scriptures. I just look those verses up on SermonAudio and see what I can find for sermons.

Hi, I was raised in Catholic Ireland but my knowledge of the Bible etc has dwindled over the years. I would like to read these passages in the Bible and learn more on this. Would somebody be able to point me in the right direction?
Many thanks.

There are no passages about DD as such. There are passages about marriage roles and there are passages about discipline generally.

For marriage roles, Ephesians Chapter 5 is the most commonly referred to. There is also 1 Peter 3, 1 Corinthians 7 and 11, Colossians 3, and Titus 2.

I also recommend the Song of Songs. A lot of people try to spiritualize it, but if you read it literally it's a great love story.
