My son went to jail today for third time. He will be gone for years this time. Im sad but grateful to know he is still alive. He has OD several times. one time I saved him his heart rate was 22. Feeling failure as a parent.

Everyone has their own journey. Don’t feel like a failure, I’m sure you love your son and always tried to do what was best. He is figuring things out, maybe he went down a wrong path, but that’s just part of his journey, and luckily he has someone like you who cares about him and will be there when he needs help 💜

I understand your feelings, as most parents would. But it honestly is rarely the fault of parents. Everyone goes their own way, makes their own choices. However, jail/prison can also be a time to get clean, take time to evaluate, and with the right attitude, through programs or college classes, find a new purpose in life. Hope your son will make the most of this time.
