CassLynn,
With apologies to any Ford owners, I wouldn't go to a Ford dealership in any case, lol. (Good point, though.)

Re: Calvinism
It’s fascinating to me that what in your church is called predestination in mine is thought of simply as omniscience and that with God there is no time so He knows what we’re going to do already. All things are present to Him. It seems like it’s the same concept. I really like discussing religion h...

Re: Hello from a new guy
Good to hear. This is how we're operating currently. I do get the feeling that she needs punishments for this to ultimately work though. She does not want to let me down, which is a powerful motivator, but not powerful enough for her I don't think. But I will leave that up to her to tell me what sh...

Dionysysus, When I first saw the thread title, I thought, "Uh-oh, should have just kept my mouth shut on that one!" So I was rather relieved to see the content. Calvinism can be a tricky thing to debate. And don't get me started on the Calvinism vs Arminian discussions! (If there are any Arminians i...

Easing into it was key for us. Not just because you can't realistically expect a relationship to change so drastically at once - but also because we'd both been against the idea when we first heard about it. We needed to make sure we were both on board with every step of the process.

Re: Baring My Thoughts...
Here are the final lines of c_and_c's post: I am just genuily curious, as my wife, and I are bible fundamentalist, and we go by scripture above all things, and not culture. I am just curious as to how things can be so contrary to what is written in the bible. He was inviting discussion. He inferred ...

Re: Baring My Thoughts...
Tatyana, I know zero 5 point Calvinists outside my church, so it's refreshing to hear that you are one. I have been very blessed with my church. It's small, the pastors are practically family to me, and they're humble. I've learned an incredible amount of theology from them, and I know they've only ...

Re: Baring My Thoughts...
Here are my thoughts, based on what I have learned from years of study with doctoral trained and ordained pastors. My background, as I believe I have stated, is that of the reformed church. I am a 5 point Calvinist, although not a "neo-Calvinist". My beliefs are based on historical points of the chu...
